Cytotoxicity assays on HEK-293, MCF-7 and SK-BR-3 cells stably transfected or not with CMV promoter (pCMV)/murine α1,3galactosyltransferase (mαGalT), pNeu664/m αGalT, or pNeu250/mαGalT. Cells were distributed in 96-well plates (5.10⁴/well) and incubated with human sera, after which rabbit complement was added. Cell death was analyzed using an XTT reagent proliferation assay. Results (means of triplicates) are expressed as percentages of cell death, relative to the amount of formazan formation (absorbance evaluated at 490 nm; NS, not significant).
