Effect of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and propofol on cellular growth. Cells (104 per well) were seeded overnight in a 96-well plate and then treated for 24 hours with various concentrations of DHA, EPA or propofol in serum-free medium. Cell growth was assayed with a WST-1 assay as described in the Materials and methods section. Results are means ± SEM for three experiments. The results were analyzed by analysis of variance and Dunnett's multiple comparison test to control the Type I experimental wise error. Significant differences from the control (P < 0.05) are indicated with an asterisk.
